How to choose accessories by what you want to keep warm or protect

Accessories handle what a jacket and trousers can’t: keeping your head and hands warm, protecting your neck and feet, and carrying small items comfortably. The largest part of the range is winter accessories - hats, headbands, gloves and neck warmers. Alongside them are socks, cycling gloves, bags, waist bags and sunglasses.

Head: hat or headband

A hat covers your whole head, ears included, and keeps you warmest. A headband protects your ears and forehead but leaves the crown open, so it suits movement, when your head would overheat in a hat. Most hats and headbands are knitted from acrylic, and some contain wool or TECNOPOLAR® fleece.

Hands: gloves by type

Ski gloves are insulated, mostly with THERMOLITE® fill, and DRYFOR fibre in them moves moisture away from your hand to the outside. Gloves with separate fingers leave your fingers free, while mittens usually keep you warmer. For walks, the city and active movement, thinner powerfleece, fleece or knitted gloves are enough, and for cycling, softshell and cycling gloves.

Neck and feet

A neck warmer closes the gap between your jacket and hat; it is knitted from acrylic and has TECNOPOLAR® fleece. Compression socks come in four sizes from 34-36 to 45-49: sports socks are mainly nylon with elastane, hiking socks contain 35% cotton and merino socks 15 or 30% merino wool.

Bike, city and travel

Cycling gloves come with and without fingers and are made of 100% polyester. For the city and for travel there are shoulder bags and a sports bag, while a waist bag holds small items at your waist. The sunglasses are folding or sports models.

What to choose accessories by

Material - acrylic is light and easy to care for, wool keeps you warm even when damp, and fleece (TECNOPOLAR®, POWERFLEECE) is light, softly brushed and protects against gusts of wind. Gloves are mostly polyester, and ski gloves also use polyurethane or leather.
Insulation - only gloves for skiing and snowboarding have fill: THERMOLITE® made of hollow fibres and, in some leather gloves, FURTHERM. Other accessories keep you warm through the material itself.
Technical fibre - DRYFOR has microgrooves on the surface that carry moisture to the outer side of the fabric, where it evaporates. You will find it in ski gloves and powerfleece gloves.
Size - gloves are numbered 4-11, socks come in four sizes from 34-36 to 45-49. Hats, headbands and neck warmers mostly come in one size.
Gender - most accessories are not gender-specific; some hats, headbands and gloves are women’s or men’s.

How to care for knitted accessories

Wash knitted hats, neck warmers and gloves on a gentle cycle according to the label, and wool ones with a wool detergent. After washing, reshape them and let them air-dry flat on a horizontal surface, away from heating and direct sunlight.

DRYFOR®

A functional fiber that excellently absorbs body moisture and wicks away sweat. Thanks to the micro-grooves on its surface, moisture is efficiently carried to the outer side of the fabric where it evaporates quickly, keeping your skin dry and comfortable. This property allows the material to provide perfect body temperature regulation.

TECNOPOLAR® fleece

Lightweight, warm, super-fine brushed fabric with a wonderful feel to the touch offers excellent thermal insulation and protection against gusty wind.

POWERFLEECE

Lightweight, highly elastic material, micro-brushed on the inside for increased thermal insulation and comfort. The outside is smooth and very pleasant to the touch, and it offers excellent thermal insulation and protection against gusty wind.
