Technologies and materials
DRYFOR®
A functional fiber that excellently absorbs body moisture and wicks away sweat. Thanks to the micro-grooves on its surface, moisture is efficiently carried to the outer side of the fabric where it evaporates quickly, keeping your skin dry and comfortable. This property allows the material to provide perfect body temperature regulation.
POWERFLEECE
Lightweight, highly elastic material, micro-brushed on the inside for increased thermal insulation and comfort. The outside is smooth and very pleasant to the touch, and it offers excellent thermal insulation and protection against gusty wind.
TECNOPOLAR® fleece
Lightweight, warm, super-fine brushed fabric with a wonderful feel to the touch offers excellent thermal insulation and protection against gusty wind.
FURTHERM®
Breathable thermal insulation fill. Keeps the body warm and comfortable. In extreme weather conditions it accumulates body heat and releases it back later, helping to maintain the required body temperature. It guarantees comfort and convenience in all activities.
Frequently asked questions
Gloves or mittens for winter?
Mittens usually keep you warmer because the fingers stay together and warm each other. Gloves with separate fingers are more dexterous with zips, buckles and straps. Among NORDBLANC ski gloves you will find both, mostly with THERMOLITE® fill and DRYFOR fibre; for long stretches of standing in frost choose mittens, for active skiing gloves with fingers.
What are NORDBLANC winter gloves made of?
Most often polyester. Ski gloves combine it with polyurethane or leather, and leather ski gloves are 80-95% leather. Powerfleece gloves are made of polyester with 7% elastane, knitted ones have, for example, 60% wool, and softshell gloves are 100% polyester.
How do I choose a glove size?
Gloves are numbered 4-11, and a few models have a narrower range, for example 4-8 or 6-11. Most gloves have a size chart with a measuring diagram on the product page: measure your hand following the diagram and compare it with the values in the chart.
How do fleece and powerfleece gloves differ?
Powerfleece gloves are made of stretchy polyester with 7% elastane, softly brushed inside, with DRYFOR fibre; they suit movement, such as cross-country skiing and hikes. Fleece gloves are made of polyester fleece, some with TECNOPOLAR®, and suit everyday wear better.
